We prioritize moderation in the GCROCK Community Discord to maintain a positive and welcoming environment for all members. Our goal is to eliminate toxicity and ensure we’re always available to address any questions or concerns you may have.
To make this happen, we rely on a dedicated moderation team and a clear process. This article will guide you through everything you need to know about moderating in our community and how to begin your journey as a moderator with us.

You don’t need any specific roles to help keep our community free from toxicity or assist others with questions. We encourage you to actively help, but we do ask that you avoid getting involved in any drama if you come across it.
Trying to de-escalate a situation can sometimes make things worse, bringing in more people and escalating the issue. If you notice anything inappropriate in the community, we recommend submitting a ticket so our moderation and admin team can handle it.
If you hold the “SHD Agent” role in our community, you’re welcome to join our moderation training program at any time. This training will teach you how we handle various situations, and you’ll have the option to participate in moderation practice if you’d like.

The benefits of joining our Mod in Training program include:
- Access to our ticketing system: You’ll have viewing permission to our ticketing system, allowing you to observe how raised tickets are handled by moderators and admins.
- Access to our Moderator Information Forum: This forum is filled with valuable resources to support moderators in their duties.
- Access to a Training Channel: As a mod in training, you can share screenshots in this channel and explain how you would address the situation. You can take screenshots from the ticketing system or from anywhere in the community if you spot something needing moderation. Admins and Senior Moderators will provide feedback on your submissions.
Please note that while in this role, you should not perform any moderator actions. This program is designed to help you gain a deeper understanding of how we manage moderation within our community.

For those aiming to achieve a full moderator role, we encourage you to be active in the training channel. This should be easy, as tickets are created regularly, and there’s plenty of activity across various channels.
As admins, our goal is to help you align with our approach. We’ll provide feedback and guidance, coaching you until you’re ready for the role.
There’s no set limit on the number of moderators, but we consider factors such as:
- The server’s demand for more moderators
- The number of moderators on each platform
- The activity level of current moderators
When we have available spots, we’ll select moderators from those who are ready within the Mod in Training program.
Once you achieve the full moderator role, you’ll be able to perform moderation tasks following our guidelines and procedures in the Discord server. You’ll still have the support of Admins, Senior Moderators, and your Moderator Team.

The senior moderator role is reserved for moderators who have proven themselves over time. Moderation can be challenging, with many tough situations that arise, especially when they involve personal connections like friends.
Moderators who have consistently worked to maintain a safe community over an extended period may be offered a senior moderator position when one becomes available. As a senior moderator, you will:
- Provide feedback and advice to the Moderator Team when needed
- Serve as a point of contact for the Moderator Team
- Assist Admins with the Mods in Training program
- Attend some Admin meetings
- Support Moderator meetings with Admins
Opportunities within our Admin Team don’t open up frequently, but when they do, we will consider Senior Moderators as potential candidates for these positions.

We’ve designed our process to ensure everyone is aligned, but there will inevitably be times when opinions differ. Even today, we face new challenges that we haven’t encountered before, though many of us have experience handling similar situations.
Senior Moderators will step in to take over when they believe it’s necessary, and Admins will do the same if they feel it’s required. Co-Founders and the Founder will also step in if they deem it necessary.
In these moments, it’s important to show respect and trust. If needed, discussions can take place away from the situation, but we should never argue or debate when someone steps in to address an issue.

Moderation can be challenging, especially during busy periods when it can become quite strenuous. Feel free to take a break whenever you need to and return to your role once you’re rested and ready. You’ll only lose your role if you choose to step down or in the following circumstances:
- Losing your “SHD Agent” role will result in the removal of any moderator roles you hold
- Failing to follow moderator guidelines may lead to a loss of your roles
- Leaving the server will automatically remove all your roles
- Extended inactivity on the server will result in the removal of your roles

If you have any additional questions about our moderator roles, don’t hesitate to reach out to us through the contact section in the GCROCK Community Discord.
